Aluminum CNC quoting

How to prepare drawings for faster aluminum CNC quotes

Good quote packages reduce back-and-forth and help the factory identify the right aluminum machining process, alloy, finish, inspection method, and lead time.

Include the essentials

Send a 3D model, a 2D drawing, aluminum alloy and finish requirements, quantities, target delivery date, and any critical inspection dimensions. If a tolerance matters to function, call it out clearly.

Separate nice-to-have from critical

Tight tolerances, cosmetic anodizing, and specialty aluminum alloys can add setup and inspection time. Mark the few features that truly drive performance so your supplier can protect cost and schedule.

Share the production context

Let the shop know whether the aluminum part is a prototype, validation batch, or recurring order. Production intent changes fixture decisions, inspection planning, and aluminum stock purchasing.
